Chair – Committee on Radioactive Waste Management 1 view

The Committee on Radioactive Waste Management provides independent scrutiny and advice to UK Government and Devolved Administration Ministers on the long-term management of radioactive waste, including storage and disposal.

Applications are sought from candidates with experience of chairing group discussions to deliver specified outcomes that balance conflicts of interest within a clear remit. Successful candidates should be able to lead a multidisciplinary team; have senior level operational experience; be able to analyse and evaluate complex technical information and make senior level strategic decisions; have strong communication skills and be able to listen to and influence stakeholders. An understanding of the issues and challenges involved in managing radioactive waste; experience of media relationships; an understanding of how public advisory bodies work; and an awareness of developed administration responsibilities is desirable.

Time: Up to 78 days per year.

Remuneration: £450 per day.
