The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the world’s largest libraries. Its collections include more than 150 million items, in over 400 languages including books, magazines, manuscripts, maps, music scores, newspapers, patents, databases, philatelic items, prints and drawings and sound recordings.
Applications are sought from candidates who are able to effectively lead a complex organisation. Successful candidates should be able to act as an ambassador for the Library to ensure effective engagement with stakeholder and potential donors and benefactors for the Library; have a good strategic appreciation of how digital technologies can be used to shape the Library’s future activities and services; have a commitment to ensuring the successful delivery of the Library’s statutory objectives and vision; and be able to provide strategic insight and constructive challenge to the Library’s Executive plan.
Time: 2 days per week.
Remuneration: £35,180 per year.
